Fine Arts

The Fine Arts program, which includes visual arts, music, drama and dance is taught by the classroom parapro. They follow curriculum developed by Terese Soto that she aligned to the Arizona State Standards in Fine Arts. Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade learn history, different techniques and genre using a variety of mediums in visual arts and in music, dance and drama. The students get to have fun while they learn and are given a chance to express themselves through the arts. Fine Arts defines the culture in which it is created and the study of fine arts gives students a better tolerance to the world in which they live. It can cut through individual differences in culture, educational background, ability and promotes cultural literacy in our society. A Fine Arts education helps students to explore what it means to be human, including the ethical and aesthetic dimensions. The arts give students a way to confront the intangible and contemplate the why. Education in the arts gives students the tools to imagine and create.
