Board of Directors

Lawanna Hawk, Parent Representative

Lawanna is our newest board member at Willow Creek Charter School. Lawanna and her husband Doug are the proud parents of two WCCS kids. Her “Mom on a Mission” approach to being involved at Willow Creek Charter comes from years of experience of community service.  Lawanna has served on the Board of directors of Noah Homes in San Diego for developmentally disabled adults. It was from that experience that she discovered a talent for fundraising and connecting people for purposeful living. She continued with community outreaches in Prescott with assisting and organizing relief efforts for victims of hurricane Katrina. In addition, she has participated in organizing large community events hosted by local churches for the past 8 years.  She is a strong advocate for our Side By Side reading program since volunteering last year. She is excited to be a part of the board at WCCS because of the philosophy of embracing every child’s uniqueness and providing the tools necessary for academic achievement.

Ginger Hancock, Board President

Ginger Hancock is one of the original teachers at Willow Creek Charter School, teaching here from 1999-2000 and 2004-2005. Ms. Hancock has also taught in the private and home school settings. She has served on two school boards, including the board here at Willow Creek Charter School. Ms. Hancock and her husband David have two teenage daughters and love living in her hometown of Prescott. Ms. Hancock is currently serving as Board Secretary.

She went on to get her post-degree dual teaching certification in Elementary and Special Education, concurrently earning a Masters in Special Education. Throughout her college years, she was employed in elementary and special education classrooms of varying ages. Her philosophy lies in encouraging the development of each student's unique strengths as well as fostering a safe environment in which to overcome individual challenges. She also strives to integrate the arts throughout her curriculum and nurture an enthusiasm for learning in her students.

Yvonne Bush, Community Representative
