Monique Jaimes is our Level 5 teacher.
Ms. Jaimes is dedicated to encouraging students to ask questions about subjects
being taught and learning how to research.
The students will begin the school
year by journaling daily goals and what they are grateful for. The activity is
designed to focus and teach students to create goals, achieve goals, and to
start the day on a positive note. Level 5 will also be practicing editing
sentences in the morning.
Ms. Jaimes will teach Level 4 students
math and Level 5 students will be taught math by Ms. Robinson, the Level 4
teacher. Ms. Robinson is a wonderful mathematician and the classroom transition
is to help prepare students for changing classrooms in the future.
Level 5 students will return to their
homeroom for reading class. Ms. Jaimes has created reading units to support
Social Studies. Reading will consist of short stories and articles that give the
students an inside glimpse of everyday life in the historical event Level 5 is
studying. The Revolutionary War, Civil War, and The World Wars will be studied.
Science will be an exciting adventure
of learning about genetics, environmental impacts and solutions, ecosystems and
adaptations, structures of the Earth, and matter, motion and force.
Level 5 will also participate in Spanish, computers, P.E., music, and art each
week. If you would like to enroll your student, download our
application.
